Our copper sinks are created entirely by hand using the ancient hammered or "martillado" technique. Copper is smelted over a wood fire, sheets of metal are hand formed and then our skilled artisans patiently heat and hammer the copper sheet repeatedly until the proper shape is formed...and a unique work of art is created!
The surface of each copper sink is then treated to accelerate the aging or "patina" process. This process is called "patinado" and is done under high heat in order to give the surface of the copper its characteristic color and increased durability.
The master artisan creating each sink works to carefully create a particular shade of red or brown that gives their work a dsitinctive and elegant finish. A craftsman works on the finish of each piece over a series of days and sometimes weeks to assure the perfect finish for your new sink.
Each of our copper sinks truly is unique and is really a handmade work of art that you have to see to believe!
